Medical students from the University of Barcelona will be completing part of their academic training in emergency and intensive care at the Dr. Ney Arias Lora Traumatology Hospital in the Dominican Republic. The University of Barcelona's Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies and Director of Intensive Medicine, José María Nicolás, finds this to be an ideal location in terms of research and care-providing quality for the students to further enhance their expertise.

June 11, 2016 – Miami-based IBT Group completed a 125-bed hospital in the Dominican Republic near the Punta Cana and La Romana resort areas. IBT financed, designed, built and equipped the three-story, 62,336-square foot hospital in a Domincan city called Higüey.

The Miami-based company recently hosted a dedication ceremony for the new hospital attended by Danilo Medina, the president of the Dominican Republic.
