Panama's President officially opens the first phase of the new Anita Moreno hospital built by Eurofinsa

Madrid.- The President of Panama Juan Carlos Varela and the Minister of Health Dr. Miguel Mayo have officially opened the first phase of the new Anita Moreno Regional Hospital located in Panama's southern Azuero region.

This first phase of the hospital built and delivered by IBT Group, a subsidiary of the Spanish Eurofinsa Group, is now operating in full swing. In this recently-opened first phase, the 125-bed mental health unit and the medical training and residency area including two classrooms and a conference room equipped with cutting-edge technologies and audiovisual systems have now started functioning.

This turnkey project includes both this hospital complex's construction and medical equipment outfitting.

This medical complex is also the first in all Latin America to implement a new mental health care model including the specialties of Psychiatric Hospitalization, Geriatric Psychiatry, Intermediate Care and Psychosocial Care, capable of providing treatment for over one hundred patients.

At full completion, estimated for July 2017, the Anita Moreno hospital will have a total of 257 hospital beds and will provide both general services as well as first-rate health care in different specialties, including an outpatient clinic, emergency service, same-day surgery, imaging service, intensive care unit, dermatology, infectiology, dentistry, cardiology, geriatrics, pharmacy, laboratory and blood bank, amongst others.
